Ducks and TV Commercials

A group of Beachbody friends and I had a picnic in Frankenmuth one Sunday in Aug of 2012. Mike, my boyfriend and I went for a walk by the river. We saw a brood of ducklings being tossed food by people on the riverbank. Looking at the picture I took, I was thinking, Americans flock to the newest fad food to grace the tables of "Public Consumption". Either it's a new triple Decker burger with bacon or bacon flavored sundae. Now some people love to try new things, I'm not talking about them. I'm concern with the people who give no thought to what they consume on a daily basis. There are 3 main types of commercials on TV . Automotive, Cleaning and Food related. According to the FTC, food related commercials account for 22%.
If you watch TV in an hour, roughly 40 minutes is the program. 20 minutes are for commercials. That's about 2 commercials a minute. 40 commercials, maybe 9 of them are food related but that also depends on WHO is the major sponsor of the program. ( this is my guesstament). McDonald's was a major Sponsor for the Olympics so you saw the "Under 400 calorie menu" ones ALOT.
I know 9 out of 10 commercials on a Saturday morning are for fast food.
How are ducks and TV commercials relevant?
Think about this. Would you rather be a part of the Flock of the Most Obese "ducks" and follow what ever bread crumbs (commercials) are on the river bank? Or would you rather start your OWN flock of ducks on the path to Health and Wellness?
